Police arrest suspect at airport following Atlanta shooting that left 2 dead


Following numerous gunfire in downtown Atlanta, two individuals are dead and a suspect is in custody at the airport, according to authorities Monday.



Police tweeted that they had "identified the female suspect at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and taken into custody without incident."

Police reported that a second injured individual had been taken to the hospital.

The victims have been named Wesley Freeman, 41, of Atlanta, and Michael Shinners, 60, of the suburb of Alpharetta,

according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office. According to the agency, Freeman was shot six times and Shinners three times before he passed away at a local hospital.

The incident does not seem to be an accident, according to acting police chief Darin Schierbaum.




According to officials, it is uncertain how the injured victim is doing.
